Amidst the flood of biopic that is running through this country’s every small street, trailer release of Shivsena’s Thackerey is followed immediately by BJP’s The Accidental Prime Minister’s one. Allegedly based on a book, that is allegedly an insider’s account of one Mr. Sanjay Baru, the trailer of this safely claimed ‘fictitious’ movie was much ignored until the ruling party at center BJP tweeted the video with their own by-line. This direct action was completely shocking for some, while some thought, ‘may as well’; twitteraties had a fruitful day at BJP’s expense.
Riveting tale of how a family held the country to ransom for 10 long years. Was Dr Singh just a regent who was holding on to the PM’s chair till the time heir was ready? Watch the official trailer of #TheAccidentalPrimeMinister, based on an insider’s account, releasing on 11 Jan! pic.twitter.com/ToliKa8xaH

For most users this turned out to be a point of interest, though their responses vary from being completely honest to being sharp satirical, sometimes completely savage.
Congratulations on turning producer 🙏.
All the very best 👍

अबकी बार भाजपा ने 3-3 घंटे के चुनावी विज्ञापन बनाए है!!!

Good luck for the Bollywood Debut, @BJP4India ! How is the journey from Politics to Producing/Directing/Marketing Bollywood movies?
This will be a good career after May 2019.
— Neeraj Sharma (@LiveDieRepeat23) December 28, 2018
Is Modi a new Ram Rahim?? 😂
— Hameed Pasha (@whitecrescent) December 28, 2018
When you have nothing to talk about your achievements in the last 4.5 years it’s obvious that you harp on blaming “One Family” and think that people will buy your propaganda again and again!! People realise that you are nothing but lie masters!!
— Mathew Jose (@mjattupuram1) December 28, 2018
You say it’s insider account but trailer say it’s fictitious. Choose one.
— Thot_slayer (@witcoh97) December 28, 2018
Wow!! Now a political party is promoting a film on their opposition as a part of election strategy!! What the hell is wrong with this country?? 🤦🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️
— Anuradha (@ann_ac22) December 28, 2018
What is your business promoting the movie? We elected you to work for the people and you are shamelessly promoting a movie? What more level can you stoop to promote yourself? You spent ₹4800 crore on advertisement. Have any shame? You are the biggest accident in power frankly!
— Vinayshankar Dandur (@vrd1321) December 28, 2018
never seen a party promoting a film so openly, this is Desperate Prime Minister 😂
— Jaini (@IchbinUjjaini) December 28, 2018
@narendramodi will not comeback by making movies. There should be a Movie made on Modi as “The Failed PM”. India Gave decisive mandate after 30 years and this guy did not know what to do.
— bhagwat (@bdeora) December 28, 2018

Are you in the business of writing reviews of newly released films ?
What nonsense. Shame !!
Serve the people…make policies ..don’t write film reviews.
Tomorrow you will start writing recipie cookbooks, nursery rhymes and what not.

— ashish mishra (@ashishvic2) December 28, 2018
When you produce a Propaganda film, the pain and agony of whether or not to promote it is unexplainable.
Heart says Promote, Brain will say don’t. It would have been an easy decision for @BJP4India to promote, as the upper floor is vacant!😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣 @jamewils
— Santhosh Nellayappan (@SNellay) December 28, 2018
Upon the issue of the movie being fictitious, some more ideas are on the way –
Its time to shoot a flim about RSS Involvement in freedom struggle.
— Suki Magan Arumugam (@ArumugamSuki) December 28, 2018
Hahahaha you guys being the PRODUCERS are doing the publicity I can understand!
— SHAFAYEE SHAIKH (@ShafayeeShaikh) December 28, 2018
Liked the trailer and was planning to see the movie, but this tweet clearly shows connection between producers of movie and BJP, not seeing it now😡😤
— HPG (@ihaveligma7) December 28, 2018
So issue is how indian get employment by knowing this mms thing. Why you dont promote all cinema i pay my tax early day. You promote my company too or producer are in film is your brother
— deepak kasdol (@chacha6711) December 28, 2018
A completely “Unbiased” Movie😅
I don’t understand why people are getting crazy when the producers share the Movie Trailer#AccidentalPrimeMinister

Somebody got nostalgic, had their own way out
Advani is thinking NamakHaram to bahut pehle aaya tha
— Rajesh Srivastava (@srivrajesh) December 28, 2018
I think BJP should share what they have implemented rather than marketing movie’s trailer..!!
— Rewati Jadhao (@Rewa_Jadhao) December 28, 2018
A perfect example of how @BJP4India is stooping too low day by day.. I’ve no sympathy for congress nor any empathy for the way they had ruled, but a disturbing and disgraceful series of comments and endorsements have made me loose respect in this organisation too..
— Sharma ji ka Beta (@sharmajika1beta) December 28, 2018
Fact that BJP’s official handle is promoting this film shows you have sponsored your personal agenda. Shame @AnupamPKher
— Priti Ahuja (@priti_ahuja) December 28, 2018
Next from BJP would be “10 ka 30, 10 ka 30” outside the theatres running #AccidentalPrimeMinister.
— Nouman Mohammed (@_NMN) December 29, 2018
On this background, Rahul Gandhi won much praises when ANI posted photo of him with Dr. Manmohan Singh cutting cake on INC’s 134th foundation day. Not sure how much BJP actually gained from it, but we can be sure that their response might be something on the lines of –
Two days to the end of this year, let’s see what more 2018 has left in his pockets. Fingers crossed!
