On the eve of 150th Anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi i.e. on 2nd October, Central Railway has announced the introduction of first ever Tricolour Mumbai local as a tribute to the Father of the Nation.
The coaches have been painted saffron, white and green to represent India’s tricolour flag and feature several depictions of Mahatma Gandhi.
One more thing added in the artwork are the glimpses of Swachh Bharat, railways have been continuously putting its efforts to promote Swacch Bharat Campaign.
The combination of Tricolour and artwork of Mahatma Gandhi on the rakes develops a feeling of proudness relating to our country and deeds of Mahatma Gandhi.
The rake has been painted by students and teachers of Central Railway School (CRS) in Kalyan, the artwork was done by the students and teachers shows the talent of the individuals.
“The newly painted rake is termed as ” Swachhta Express” and will run on tracks from 2nd October.” an official said.
Earlier the railways had developed Nature themed rakes, ladies coaches were specially painted in a different manner like an aquarium.
CR’s Mumbai division has been trying to offer a more visually appealing and pleasant experience to commuters during their daily travel.
The Indian government has declared to watch out 2nd October as ‘Swacchta Divas’ and Railways have pushed a try further to promote the positive cause of keeping the country clean.
