According to the weather forecasted on Friday, the entire state of Maharashtra will have rainfall but parts of Thane and Palghar will witness heavy rainfall to very heavy rainfall.
The heavy rainfall is expected due to the low-pressure belt created in the North-West direction of Bengal and Cyclone like conditions prevailing in Gujrat.
“The intensity of rainfall is likely to increase by Sunday because of the rain like conditions developing in the coastal areas.” said Krushnanand Hosalikar, Deputy Director General of Regional Meteorological Department.
Heavy rains are likely to lash the cities this weekend. In the last few weeks cities like Mumbai and Thane have witnessed tough situations due to heavy rainfall, disbursing the normal routine. There are signs of Western Maharashtra having adequate rainfall in the coming week. The downpour had led to water-logging at several places and slowing the movement of suburban trains.
The BMC has already warned about highest high tides in the next four days and if heavy rainfall favours the situation then there are chances of water logging in the region.
