A massive blast was reported in Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL) refinery at Mahul road, Gavan Gaon, Chembur. The blast has led to the fire and heavy smoke in the vicinity.
A level three fire call has been reported by the fire department. 7 fire engines, 2 foam tenders and 2 jumbo tankers were sent to the area, said CFO Prabhat Rahangdale.
The blast was so massive that the shock waves shook the glass windows of residential buildings four km away. There are no casualties yet. Further details are awaited.
