In response to Kerala CM Pinarayi Vijayan’s appeal to the nation, Sena Leader Eknath Shinde is providing the calamity-struck state with relief material and a team of highly trained doctors. Leading by example here, Sena MP from Kalyan, Dr. Shrikant Shinde is personally heading the team of doctors. Clothes, blankets, soaps, rice, pulses, sugar, biscuits etc making up over 50 tons of relief material has already left for Kerala yesterday. In solidarity with Kerala, Sena MPs and MLAs had donated a month’s salary earlier yesterday, after an appeal from Dr. Shrikant Shinde.
PWD Minister and Thane’s Guardian Minister Eknath Shinde personally flagged off relief material transporting trucks from Thane yesterday. Along him were also present, Thane MP Rajan Vichare, Kalyan MP Dr Shrikant Shinde, MLA Pratap Sarnaik, Subhash Bhoir, Thane Mayor Meenakshi Shinde, Dy Mayor Ramakant Madhavi.
On the occasion, Eknath Shinde said, “By order of Shivsena Chief Uddhav Thackeray, various kinds of material is being sent to Kerala from Shivsena’s Thane district branch. A team of 30 doctors is also going to Kerala, and will be joined by MP Dr Shrikant Shinde and I personally. Under Dr Dinkar Desai and Dr J B Bhor, along with Indian Medical Association and Wagale Estate Doctors Association, doctors from various organisations are joining us. After the floods, infectious diseases become the primary concern. Kerala needs medical support bases on multiple locations to tackle this issue. We are providing medical support as well as 50 tons of relief material from the people of Thane district.”

Kalyan MP Dr Shrikant Shinde is among the youngest politicians in India and is seen as hardworking and smart among the youth. His works in drought-eradication along hundreds of acres of land in his constituency were applauded across the party lines and ideologies. Dr Shinde was recently awarded by State Govt for his Mega Tree Plantation drive accumulating over two lakhs plants for two consecutive years. Now, he is personally heading the team of doctors covering Kerala’s flood affected areas.
