Thane Traffic department had made a few changes in the traffic directions to overcome the traffic congestion in the city on a trial basis, this has forced the share-auto drivers to hike their fare.
The traffic flow from Teen hath Naka towards Thane Railway station usually passed through MTNL Chowk and Naupada, but the changes in traffic direction which has forced the travellers to go through a long route via Hariniwas Circle road.
Before the traffic changes, nominal sharing fare from Kisan Nagar in Wagle Estate cost for Rs. 14 per seat, after the new traffic directions the auto drivers hiked the fare by 1 rupee and the commuters now have to pay Rs. 15 per seat.

Changes in the routes are as follows:
- The road in front of Malhar Cinema which goes towards Teen Hath Naka on Gokhale Road is Open.
- This route will be closed for the vehicle travelling from Teen Hath Naka towards Gokhale Road.
- Vehicles on this route will be routed via LBS Road, Harinivas Circle to Gokhale Road.
Share-auto drivers say that the distance from Thane station to Kisan Nagar has increased due to new traffic directions and they don’t have any option other than rising the fare.
People have started blaming that the share-auto drivers have themselves hiked the fare without the consent of the union and advice of the people.
