Brave soldier Kaustubh Rane (29), residing in Mira road of Thane, who was just promoted for the post of Major, made a supreme sacrifice for the nation in an encounter with the terrorist on the Line of Control (LoC).
Terrorists attacked the army post in North Kashmir’s Gurez sector of Bandipora district at around 1 am while reacting to the attack by the terrorists, the alert Indian army crossfire on the terrorists. The army was successful in avoiding the terrorists to enter into the Indian territory but it cost us the lives of the four brave army men.
The four brave men who made a supreme sacrifice for the nation were Kaustubh Rane(29) of Thane in Maharashtra, Mandeep Singh (26) of Shivpuri in Uttrakhand, Hameer Singh (28), of village Pokhriyal in Uttrakhand and Vikramjeet Singh (25) of Ambala in Haryana.
Kaustubh Rane, who belonged to the Army’s 36 Rashtriya Rifles, resided in Mira road, Thane with his family including mother, father, wife and a two and half year old son. He was basically from Vaibhavwadi, Sindhudurg district of Maharashtra.
Martyred Kaustubh Rane was promoted to the post of Major in January this year, family and his acquaintances were proud of his promotion. He was keen to work for the army since his childhood and his family felt pride about their son serving for the nation.
According to the information
provided by the Union Home Minister Hansraj Ahir that till June 2018, 153 instances of Pakistani terrorists trying to infiltrate in the Indian territories have been reported. By June 2018, 14 terrorists were killed, while 50 terrorists returned to Pakistan from the border.
