Kalvan and Suragana Taluka facing a serious problem of Gastro infection due to contaminated water. Three senior citizens have lost their lives due to gastro-infection in the village of Rahuga in Surgana.
District Magistrate Radhakrishnan B. has directed to establish a mechanism to provides immediately prompt medical facilities to the infected patients and supply pure water in the village.
About 150 people have been infected by gastro infection in Rahude, Surgana taluka. Some patient is being treated in Surgana Hospital and other are treated in District hospital. Namdev Motiram Gangurde (60) died on Sunday (July 8th). Later, on Wednesday (December 11), Bashira Pandu Lilke (60) and Sitaram Jiva Peth (62), both the patients died due to the accident. District Administration became alert after this incident.
District Magistrate Radhakrishnan B has reached Surgana Taluka after the number of Gastro infection patients increases. After visiting the village of Rahude, he inspected the area and situation. Zilla Parishad’s health department officials were present along with Tehsildars. The administration has been given instruction to provide the pure water immediately. The district collector has also instructed to issue to supply water through tanker. The administration has started the health check-up camp in the village and the improvement in the condition of the patients informed the administration.
Village police Patil is keeping a close eye on the prevailing situation and the in constant touch with the Primary Health Centre (PHC) and the team of doctor deployed in the village.
